Have you ever felt the atmosphere of a room or environment and felt good or bad, even when no one was present? And you felt it related to the place you were in? What you were sensing was residual emotional energy. It's everywhere.
The problem with negative residual energy is that it easily interacts with our own emotions, amplifying them. And this happens daily. The emotional energies we carry, and experience may not always be entirely ours.
This isn't science fiction. It's reality. Because we don't protect ourselves from external emotional energies-whether from our surroundings or long-distance influences via media-we remain vulnerable to emotional manipulation.
Today, we're constantly bombarded by others' thoughts and feelings. Some are deeply negative. These affect us-even if we think they don't.
It is essential that we understand where our thoughts begin and where they end. The truth is-they don't end. They live in our environments, in others' energy fields, and in collective consciousness.
This is not about conspiracies. It's simply how things work.
Unless we learn to take control of our thoughts, they can be controlled by others-and no one wants that.
The Outsourcing of Our Thoughts
Unwanted Connections
In the vast spectrum of thought creation-where ideas begin deep within and spread to countless places-we must acknowledge that others, including spirits (both benevolent and malevolent), can influence us. Not just influence our thoughts but introduce entirely new ones.
Are we being controlled?
No.
Are we being influenced?
Yes ... sometimes.
It's complex. Let's explore that complexity.
We often don't realize how powerful our thoughts are-or how much they affect others. When we think about someone, we send them energetic signals. Each person has a unique vibrational signature, like energetic DNA. We don't need to know someone personally or even their location. Our thoughts still reach them.
How do I know this? Because this is what I do. Teaching people to protect themselves and clear their energy involves understanding the nonphysical laws that govern everything beyond the physical. Knowing these laws empowers us to create change.
Emotions and ideas are delivered through charged energetic packets-concepts and feelings rolled into a single transmission. Our thoughts are more powerful than we realize, but also more vulnerable.
If we actively screen or filter incoming energies, we can block harmful influences. Many though
ts seem harmless but carry strong emotional charges.
It's up to us to choose which ones to empower.
Thoughts directed negatively-whether toward individuals or groups-carry very real energetic consequences. They can affect our own emotional systems and ripple out to influence others. So
metimes deliberately, sometimes unintentionally-but always with real effects.
That's why we must protect ourselves-emotionally and energetically.
We are constantly absorbing emotional input from people we know, people we don't, from media, and even from spiritual entities. Some of these influences are harmless-or even helpful. Others are toxic or manipulative. And some are downright hostile.
Negative spirits understand how thought and emotional charges work-and use that knowledge maliciously. Good spirits do not.
To navigate this, we must understand the science of thought transference.
The Science of Thought Transference
Psychic ability is simply perception-nothing more, nothing less. Everyone has it. Everyone is psychic to some degree. We communicate on multiple levels simultaneously.
Our thoughts begin at the innermost point of our soul-as impulses of energy. These thoughts radiate outward like beams of light, sometimes directed, sometimes aimless. When aimed at someone-consciously or unconsciously-this becomes the foundation of telepathy: communication without spoken words. This happens naturally every day. The key is learning how to receive and interpret these signals. With nonphysical protection techniques, we can easily block harmful energies.
If we acknowledge the power of our own thoughts and emotions, we must also recognize the power of others'. Without proper protection, we are vulnerable to emotional and mental influence-whether from other people or from spirits with negative intent. Spirits are simply people without bodies. They outnumber the living and are aware of how thoughts function energetically.
So, how can others influence us emotionally?
Not all thoughts are linear, like spoken language. A linear thought might be: "I want to give you this information." But thoughts-especially from spirits-can arrive in the form of fully formed concepts, paragraphs, or ideas all at once. It's like downloading a full chapter of a book in an instant.
You might suddenly have a complete vision or business idea appear in your mind. That is an example of a thought-form containing rich, layered information. It's very common. Many spirits, and some humans, communicate this way.
Yes, it's a little complex.
But we naturally communicate this way in our subconscious and in our dreams. The challenge is learning to consciously interpret these messages during waking life. While it may be difficult, it's not impossible and it's certainly worth learning.
Each thought has power. Each is generated and sent in a direction-intentionally or not. Most people are unaware of how far their thoughts travel, how long they persist, or the energy they carry. A single thought can last minutes-or centuries-depending on its energy.
Our thoughts don't stay in our minds. When we think of someone, that thought travels to them, infused with energy.
Negative thoughts carry disruptive energy that can damage both the sender and the receiver. This is why it's essential to develop an internal "security system"-a psychic filter to block out what we don't want.
Because people send out emotionally charged thoughts all the time, we are constantly bombarded-consciously and unconsciously. Positively charged thoughts can uplift us. Negatively charged ones can harm us.
Let's break it down further:
We're not always in control of our thoughts. We're not always aware of how they form or what they contain. We're not taught that thoughts carry energy that travels from person to person, or spirit to human. But they do.
Our thoughts can affect others energetically, and theirs can affect us. Multiply this by 8 billion people, add endless media stimulation, and you have a recipe for sensory overload and emotional distortion.
This constant exposure causes emotional buildup in our energy fields and makes us vulnerable to influence. Many of the emotions we feel-especially intense ones-are not always our own.
Still unsure? Let's go deeper.
We exist in a constant stream of emotional energy-positive, negative, and mixed. Because everyone generates emotions nonstop, we walk through other people's energies all the time. These energies accumulate in homes, workplaces, stores-everywhere.
If our energy fields are not strong or protected, external emotional energies pass through us easily. They interact with and amplify our emotions-without our consent or knowledge.
This can deeply affect our emotional lives, and in turn, our mental states-our moods, reactions, happiness, sadness, anger, etc. Essentially, our thoughts can be shaped by others without us knowing it.
That's not natural-and it's not okay.
This isn't about being controlled-it's about being affected.
Spirits (again, just people without bodies) can visually see our emotions and energy fields. They see our strengths and weaknesses. Some target our weak spots and send their emotional energy through, deliberately trying to destabilize us.
Unfortunately, it's easy for them-and easier still for us to stop it, once we understand how.
We constantly generate charged emotional thoughts, consciously and unconsciously. This is natural but can quickly become unnatural if unchecked.
People with bad intentions (both living and spirit) know how to exploit this system. They can amplify our emotions from a distance. With today's media and communication systems-radio, television, internet -we're exposed to global emotional input 24/7.
If those inputs are positive, no problem. If negative, they become a big problem.
Most people are not aware that their emotions are blending with others all the time. This happens during waking life and in dreams. Spirits with negative intent target us by focusing on emotions like anger or rage. They don't need to know what you're thinking-they only need to trigger emotional responses.
They are opportunists.
A Few Words About Spirits
There are many kinds of spirits. Most are just people who've passed on. They're not scary or supernatural, though some pretend to be. Most are good and can offer help or guidance. The saying "miracles do happen" is quite true-good spirits can help us.
Negative spirits act like criminals. They often target people, pets, families, or even businesses, for reasons we wouldn't understand because good people don't think that way. I sometimes refer to them as criminal spirits.
Contrary to popular belief, spirits cannot be bribed, bought, or controlled. They don't need money and don't value physical things. People who claim otherwise are misinformed.
I've worked with people across cultures who mistakenly believe that spirits are things or tools to be used. That's simply not true. Spirits are beings. And just like people, they can be good or bad.
The key is learning how to deal with negative spirits. And that starts with understanding how they affect us emotionally.
A Few Words About People
That's us. Most people are good. Some are not. Some are good most of the time, but not always.
We live in duality-spiritual and physical. This isn't religion; it's science. Our spirits are eternal, not energy sources or batteries. We are whole, conscious beings, bound together by forces we don't fully understand--and that's okay.
We exist beyond time. The spirit doesn't age or decay. When we die, our essential selves continue-personality, thoughts, emotions intact. I say this as a scientist, not a religious person. I have no religious affiliation.
Because we are connected to nonphysical reality, we have the power to shape it. We can learn to protect ourselves. Most spirits are not more powerful than humans-we simply need to understand how to deal with them.
Some spirits are very old. Others are what we might call angels or guides. These are real-not myths. So those with faith can take comfort that core truths of their belief systems are valid, though not always fully understood.
The Outsourcing of Our Thoughts and Feelings
Because most people don't protect themselves emotionally using practical energetic techniques, both people and spirits with negative intentions can easily amplify our emotions-without our awareness.
We're constantly experiencing the emotional thoughts of others running through our emotional systems. Yet we rarely notice.
Why? Because emotional energies are not easily seen. But they are felt. We live in a sea of emotional energies-those generated by ourselves, other people, and spirits. Spirits interact with us far more than we realize. Though they are invisible to us, their presence can often be felt.
It's crucial to understand this: Spirits with bad intentions can easily amplify our emotional states, and this is extremely dangerous.
Are all our thoughts compromised?
Absolutely not.
But for many people, the percentage of thoughts and feelings that are amplified by outside influences is far greater than we suspect-and far too high. Some people are more susceptible than others. But that doesn't mean anyone is completely safe just because they feel unaffected.
We are not fully spirit beings in this moment. That part of us is just one aspect of our total self, and because we are so focused on the physical world, we lack the ability to visually perceive emotions.
Because of this, we often don't know when we're under emotional influence-or even under attack-by people or spirits trying to intensify our negative feelings.
Though we can't see emotional energy, we do feel it.
Spirits and people with negative intentions can easily target the thoughts and feelings we already have, and amplify them. This doesn't require physical proximity. In the nonphysical realm, distance as we know it doesn't exist. So, the idea that someone must be near us to affect us is a myth.
It's no truer than the claim that people must be close to us physically in order to influence us emotionally. Events happening anywhere in the world-news, social media, videos-can and do impact our emotions instantly.
Are communication systems like TV, radio, and the internet evil?
Not at all. They're tools and can be used for good or harm.
These systems can easily stir our emotions for better or worse. With them, we can buy concert tickets, check in with loved ones, or enjoy entertainment. But we can also be exposed to violence, fear, and manipulation in real-time.
When I was a teenager in the 1970s, getting concert tickets meant standing in long lines for hours and still ending up with bad seats. Today, it takes five minutes from your smartphone. We are more connected than ever before. But that connection comes with a price.
The first thing I learned while working for an internet company in the early 2000s was this:
The internet is just a group of computers connected together.
That simple truth is still profound.
With that connectivity, everyone now has access to our homes, our phones, and our emotional space. There are good people to connect with and bad ones to avoid. And unfortunately, it's easy to pretend to be someone else online. All this shapes our emotional state.
This new, unfiltered access brings a flood of emotional energy into our personal space. And most of us are not equipped to manage it.
Communication systems are physical-plane models of telepathy
We are now learning to communicate with each other in ways that didn't exist just 30 years ago. Think of early telephone "party lines"-no one trusted who was listening. That's where we are now with the internet. It's a powerful, unfinished tool and so are we.
Because we haven't learned how to regulate this power, we leave ourselves open to emotional manipulation via technology. There are people-real and spiritual-who exploit this vulnerability daily. They take advantage of fear, hysteria, and herd mentality for control or entertainment.
This constant bombardment generates an enormous amount of emotional energy-both from the sender and the receiver (us).
The outsourcing of our thoughts happens because we don't fully understand how easily our emotional systems can be manipulated. This must change-and it will change-as we learn to control our thoughts, protect our energy, and reject harmful input.
Spirits can see our thoughts and emotions visually. They see our strengths and our vulnerabilities. They can easily tell who is easier to manipulate and who is not. And while we all have moments of emotional vulnerability, it's critical that we learn to protect ourselves.
This may sound complex-but it's our reality.
We must tend to our thoughts as they evolve and move outward. Emotional energy that is not managed becomes highly susceptible to external amplification-by our own feelings, by others, or by spirits.
We are immersed in emotional energy: in our homes, at work, in media, and within ourselves. This sea of energy is both beautiful and dangerous.
Unfortunately, there are predators-some human, some spiritual-who thrive on amplifying our emotional states for power or ego. Spirits have no need for money, but many crave dominance.
Emotional thoughts carry energy.
Are they alive? No. But they are charged and energy, once released, can persist for far longer than we realize.
Many people might dismiss these ideas as philosophy.
To them, I would say: look at how easily we're emotionally affected by headlines, videos, conversations, social media, or world events. It's not theory-it's daily life.
The concern lies with negative emotions-whether generated by us or projected onto us.
We need to become stronger, individually and collectively. Because our thoughts can be amplified, shaped, and even weaponized by others, and often, we don't realize it's happening.
We must take responsibility for our thoughts and feelings. This is what it means to be human. We cannot allow ourselves to be emotionally swayed by every negative thing we see or hear. The news cycle is overwhelmingly focused on tragedy, violence, and conflict. Positivity is rare in mainstream narratives.
This creates a false image of humanity-one that suggests people are inherently bad, that only disaster and cruelty exist.
But that's not the truth.
Most people are not murderers or criminals. Most people are kind, helpful, and generous. We just don't hear about it. Births are not announced with the same urgency as deaths. Everyday acts of kindness rarely make headlines.
So we begin to believe the world is only negative. Those people are only self-serving. And that's a lie.
If we don't learn to protect ourselves, we will continue to allow our thoughts to be outsourced without our knowledge, and against our will.
But protecting ourselves is not difficult.
We can take back ownership of our thoughts. We can shape our emotions consciously. We can work together to build a better world and better societies. Agreement isn't necessary. But cooperation is.
We must learn to live together. Or else…
Another Unusual Event in My Life Happens
When I first started my professional work in 1992, I was living in an apartment in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. One night around 9 PM (2100 hours), I was reading a book-not metaphysical or spiritual, just something for pleasure. I had already spent a decade studying after leaving the United States Air Force, so I was reading to relax.
I was completely sober. No alcohol, no drugs. I wasn't even tired. And then-suddenly I was somewhere else.
I found myself standing beside a short man with brown skin and very long dark hair. He stood on a sunlit hill, wearing what looked like a grass skirt, with no shirt. He looked directly at me, and I realized on many levels that I was seeing myself from some other place, or maybe some other time. It was both stunning and comforting. Since I hadn't initiated the experience, I was also a bit concerned. What was this? What was happening?
The man continued to look at me and began drawing a symbol in the air that I didn't understand. The symbol appeared visually as blue lights he created quickly in a distinct pattern. Though he simply moved his hands through the air, I could see the symbol forming. He seemed to know exactly what he was doing.
Now I could only see him-not myself as I looked through my own eyes. It felt as if only part of me was there.
Then, acting instinctively, somehow knowing he was about to leave but not knowing where or how, I jumped on his back. I had the sense that I didn't weigh anything, though I didn't know why. He didn't flinch. He didn't move.
Everything happened very fast.
The symbol he had drawn began to spin slowly at first, then rapidly. It turned from blue to white. With me on his back, the man jumped into the spinning symbol-or perhaps it was multiple symbols I'm still not sure. But instead of landing just a few feet away, we began flying through a kind of tunnel made of light. The lights rushed past, and so did we.
I tried to count the time in my head. I'd estimate we traveled for about 30 seconds.
We arrived near what looked like a group of grass huts, perhaps a small village. The man turned, looked at me, and motioned for silence. I sensed he didn't mean I shouldn't speak he meant I shouldn't move. That moving itself could be dangerous.
Then I saw something terrible.
Soldiers wearing breastplates and carrying swords were killing unarmed villagers. I was no longer on the man's back. I was standing behind him. Oddly, the soldiers didn't seem to see us. I thought they could.
The man looked at me again and began to cry.
I was too petrified to think clearly. I assumed if I didn't move, I wouldn't be seen. And then-without understanding how I was back on his back again, traveling through the tunnel of moving light. But we didn't return to the sunny hill. Instead, I found myself back in my apartment, sitting upright, just as before.
But something had changed.
I never really came back. Not in the same way.
From that moment on, I felt like I was in two places at once and I didn't like it.
Strange and interesting things had happened to me before in my unusual life, and some of them had changed me. But never had I felt so clearly that I existed simultaneously in the physical world and another, nonphysical one. I didn't even know what the other side was. But I was there-and I couldn't look away.
Sitting in my apartment, I expected the feeling to fade, as other unusual experiences had. I couldn't read anymore. I couldn't stop thinking about the vision, the feeling of being in two places at once.
Some people might assume that's a desirable state of mind. I did not feel that way. Focusing on what's around us is already challenging enough. Having to constantly process another realm of perception always there, always present was not something I wanted.
And it didn't go away. Not even now, as I write this.
I must emphasize I do not embellish the events of my life. That would be a lie and that would make this worthless. I couldn't live with that. When sharing one's life, it is essential to tell the truth. The absolute truth. Yes, it's risky. Yes, it can be painful. But every word I've written about this experience happened to me, exactly as I've described.
The Change That Stayed
Three days later, nothing had changed. I was still in both places at once-one part of my mind in the nonphysical realm, the other part living a physical life. I could see a more fluid, colorful world while still functioning in daily life. It was not pleasant.
I went to see a friend someone metaphysical and well known professionally and told them I was frightened. The experience hadn't worn off as I'd hoped. It had changed me-and that change remained.
My friend wasn't surprised. They felt that some kind of resolution would come.
The only resolution I found was this: I would simply have to get used to it.
And that was the hardest thing I've ever had to do.
